Blast From The Past

Blast From The Past

“It was a real blast from the past walking around with Rob and Ray.  We shared many happy memories of what life at Uplands was about as a child in the late 70’s and early 80’s.  It was nostalgic and magical as we remembered which beds we slept in, where we played marbles, which trees we climbed (some have gone) where we built the forts, the air strip, Scout camps at Mount Sheba, walks in the forests, elaborate plans on early warning systems when having pillow fights and so on.  We marvelled on the progress the school has made as in those days, there was no  Pre-Preparatory, Technology block, Chapel, Hall or Library.  No fences or gates, no tarred roads…

We all agreed that the years at Uplands were the best school years of our lives.” – Phil Hemus
