Ours was the first boarding House established at Uplands College. Our first pupils arrived on 19th January 1998. Our green colour reflects our legacy from our Preparatory School, where green has traditionally been our dominant colour. Our mascot is the Rhino.
Within our boarding House we know that the girls perform best when they are happy and secure, so we strive to develop a caring and supportive community that resonates a real sense of belonging. Friendship, loyalty and commitment strongly resonate amongst the girls. Our College boarding staff recognise the pressures, uncertainties and challenges of being a teenager, and we are readily available should the girls need a chat over a cup of tea. We also have an enthusiastic team of Grade 12 Mentors who do a superb job of encouraging, monitoring and nurturing the girls.
We pride ourselves on being friendly and welcoming. Throughout the year there are many opportunities for the boys and girls to have fun while they learn. The atmosphere in House is characterised by young ladies, gentlemen and staff who aspire to achieve shared goals, underpinned by a clear drive to give of one’s best. All of College House are constantly encouraged to foster good study habits and to develop and broaden their individual interests and skills amongst our beautiful environment.
