04 Sep Galapagos: your next holiday destination?
Learning should connect pupils to the real world and in this instance it required pupil creativity, collaboration, global citizenship and digital skills. Life Science pupils were tasked to create a video promoting eco-tourism in the Galapagos Islands. Successful videos highlighted the unique adaptations of species that can only be viewed in this remarkable place, and also examined the delicate balance between conservation and economic prosperity. Thank you to Ms van Jaarsveldt for making Darwin’s Theory of Evolution so enticing and relevant, and we commend these Grade 11 pupils for their witty and inspiring responses to this task.
