13 Feb Senior Art Project
The Grade 11 Visual Arts pupils were challenged with creating public artworks to reflect our core values. Each group had to create a life size figure which captured a specific theme:
Theme 1: United in Diversity – Here a figure juggles aspects of gender, race, religious and cultural diversity. These diverse aspects of ourselves are all connected to the heart which explains how humanity unites us.
Theme 2: Me Leading You – “A leader’s job is not to do the work for others, it’s to help others figure out how to do it themselves“ is the quote which inspired this group. This work shows a bond from one heart to another to represent the inspiration and drive that they are instilling in each other.
Theme 3: Life in the Fast Lane – Although some pupils may present a perfect veneer on social media platforms or in the public eye, in reality things might be a little different. This piece explores how students have to manoeuvre around the obstacles and challenges they face as they grow up.
