17 Mar Sense of touch
A new year brings along a new grade for each child. What a fun way to explore a new playing environment by using all your senses. The Grade 000s used their sense of touch to discover different textures. These hands-on learning experiences are invaluable to children and contribute to their overall development by:
• allowing children the freedom to explore varied materials without a predefined outcome
•enabling discovery of new and surprising
effects, both visual and tactile
• broadening vocabulary as children encounter and learn to identify differences in texture – rough, smooth, soft, hard, lumpy, runny, slimy, prickly, etc.
