2025 Uplands Founders Evening Testimonials

Dear Uplands Team

I hope this note finds you well! I wanted to take a moment to express gratitude and congratulations to all involved for the sensational evening we enjoyed at the Founders Evening. I’m still buzzing!

Everything was just magnificent. The set-up was not only visually stunning but thoughtfully designed. I loved how the pupils encircled the audience — a brilliant touch! Not only did it create a warm and inviting atmosphere, it felt as if it also kept out the actual chill… but mostly, the circular shape felt like an added element of unity that, for me, reflected the spirit of our fantastic school.

The stage and backdrop were equally impressive, setting the perfect scene for what was to come. The speeches beautifully encapsulated the evening’s theme of kindness, reminding us all of the core values our school stands for. The messages were impactful and I’m absolutely sure it truly resonated with everyone in attendance.

Now let’s talk about the performances! Wow! I was absolutely blown away by the incredible talent showcased. From those gorgeous little faces to the stunning dances of our ‘almost-adults’ to the innovative choreography, every act was a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. The entire evening flowed seamlessly, reflecting the exceptional standards this school embodies. AND THE FLAGS!!! I mean… I have no words!

This event was a beautiful representation of all that our school does to foster creativity, community, excellence and, most importantly, kindness. I am so grateful to be part of such an amazing institution and feel proud to support a place that nurtures such extraordinary talent.
Thank you to you and your entire team for all your hard work and dedication – the Founders Evening is a testament to the excellence Uplands pours into absolutely everything it does, be it education, a show, a sports event…

I look forward to seeing what the future holds for our wonderful school!

With warm regards and appreciation

Words are failing me to express my very first experience of Uplands Founders Day celebration. I was treated like royalty from the moment I arrived at the school, as one handsome boy walked me through the Arts Exhibition arena. As I mingled and rubbed shoulders with dignitaries and parents of your prestigious institution, I met one of my former students, Sthembiso Rapitsi, now a parent at your school. Meeting her triggered so many fond memories and pleasantries of many decades apart. All the acts, the speeches, the dramas and choreographies kept my adrenalin pumping with adoration. The display of talents by Uplands pupils was out of this world. The rendition by those little starlets from the Prep School left me speechless. My soul was further serenaded by the melodious rendition of the Zulu song “Sibonga boThishela bethu”,as their little voices pierced and echoed through the night sky.

The preservation of the culture, tradition, history and values of this gigantic school as narrated by the Chairman of the Board is an act of nobility as we cherish of the vision of the founders of this school. The smiles of those pupils is an innermost expression and recognition that they stand proudly on the shoulders of those great men and women who founded this colossal school which today is in the top five of the best schools in the republic. Surely this was a night to remember. I can’t help but wish to witness the centenary celebration in three years’ time.

Thanks!
