Green Guru Solutions is currently managing waste for Uplands. The new service introduces a two-bin system designed to help pupils and staff separate their waste at the source.
Sustainability
These bins are designated for recyclable and non-recyclable waste. The school has been provided with educational infographics and Green Guru held presentations for both faculty and pupils to emphasise the importance of recycling and to explain the recycling process at school. Additionally, we have an on-site waste sorter who handles further separation once the waste reaches the skips.
With this improved system, we have successfully diverted 2.2 tonnes of waste from the landfill – an impressive achievement. Uplands is dedicated to increasing this figure and is confident that, with the ongoing support and collaboration of the school, we will reach our goals.
