Katia has a National Diploma in Logistics Management from the University of South Africa (UNISA) with eight years of experience in the logistics field. She previously worked as a Finance Administrator and HR Administrator at Uplands College for five years before transferring to Uplands Outreach. She is passionate about compliance, planning, organising and being part of a team making a difference in schools and in the community. Katia enjoys reading, music, travelling and working with children. She is married to Deon van der Merwe and has two children, Samantha, a graduate of Uplands College and Rui, who is currently at Uplands.
