On Sunday 13th September 2026, Uplands Preparatory was proud to host the Consecration and Enthronement of the Bishop-Elect, Reverend Canon Wayne Samuel Saldanha, now Bishop of Mpumalanga for the Diocese of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa.
This was a very special service led and undertaken by the Archbishop of Cape Town and Metropolitan of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, The Most Reverend Dr Thabo Cecil Makgoba.
Various Bishops from around the country, past and present, travelled to share in this sacred and special moment. Likewise, many family and friends of Bishop Wayne, the Church and the Diocese were here to feature in the Service. It was very moving, and we are excited that the new Bishop’s tenure has now commenced.
