Many of our Uplands Outreach partner schools were invited to send their senior learners to Uplands to attend the annual Careers Day at Uplands College. The Uplands College hall was filled to capacity with tertiary institutions who had come from far and wide to market their courses. Technical colleges, universities, institutions and private colleges from Gauteng and Mpumalanga interacted with the learners, gave advice and marketed their diverse programme offerings.
Each learner received an Uplands bag which contained all the pamphlets they received from the institutions. The learners were incredibly grateful for this opportunity to find out first-hand what each institution offered. This provided them with a scope of options, which added to their energy and enthusiasm in making decisions regarding their future plans. South Africa’s future depends on the success of all learners, so we were pleased to play a role in opening up opportunities for learners from many different schools.
