OUTSTANDING RESULTS ACHIEVED!

Uplands College is delighted to announce the remarkable achievements of the Matric Class of 2024, once again attaining a 100% pass rate.

Notably, an impressive 95% of the graduating pupils have met the requirements for Bachelor’s Degree studies, solidifying the institution’s commitment to excellence in education.

Uplands College acknowledges the collaborative efforts of pupils and teachers, as well as the invaluable support and commitment of the parent body. The outstanding accomplishments of the Class of 2024 serve as a testament to the holistic approach to education at Uplands, inspiring others and paving the way for promising futures.

Key Highlights:

  • Top Performers: Four of our pupils were placed in the top 1% of the country for individual subject results: Tristan Walker in the top 1% for Business Studies, Chloe Brandt in the top 1% for Engineering, Graphics and Design, Katie Mills and Cate Storm in the top 1% for Dramatic Arts.
  • IEB Commendable Achievement List: for pupils who achieve in the top 5% for 5 subjects as well as a rating of 7 in Life Orientation. Amy-Jane Maré is on this commendable achievement list.
  • Exceptional Results: Uplands achieved outstanding overall results, with 28% of grades being As and 60% of all subject results above 70%.
  • Exceptional Subject Averages: 15 subjects all obtained averages above the IEB average. Dramatic Arts has an average of 11% above the national average. The core subjects of Mathematics, English and Physical Sciences were also above the IEB averages. The Further Studies subjects (Further Studies English, Mathematics and Physics) were all above the national averages.
  • Individual Achievements:
    • Edwin Ferreira achieved an outstanding 10 distinctions
    • Natasha Bourdin, Chloe Brandt and Max Östlind secured 7 distinctions
    • Ntsako Khosa, Amy-Jane Maré, Ximene Nhaúle, Sulinka van Stelten and Tristan Walker attained 6 distinctions
    • Samantha Codd, Laila Hamilton, Lomantjolo Mnisi, Faith Nyamaka and Cate Storm achieved 5 distinctions.
  • Recognition of Excellence: Katie Mills and Cate Storm achieved a perfect final result of 100% for Dramatic Arts.
  • Notable Consistency: Several pupils achieved high distinctions, including 4 distinctions for Erin Bell, Guy Dupont, Katie Mills, Cassandra Mitana, Jack Robson, Zenkosi Thwala, Jenna Viljoen, Chloé Warren, Xiluva Wate and Nicole Woodrow.

Commendation from the Head of College: Mr Allan Laing, Head of College, expressed immense pride in the pupils’ achievements, emphasising the impact of their success as a lasting legacy for future generations.

Uplands College, with its 96-year history, remains dedicated to providing quality education within a traditional yet dynamic setting. Situated in the picturesque White River, the institution’s 110-hectare countryside campus has been the nurturing ground for generations of successful individuals.
